Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all courses and workshops provided by Irish School of DIY (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a place on any course, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1.1. A booking is confirmed only when:

• You have completed the online booking form, and
• Full payment has been received and acknowledged by us.

1.2. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot reserve places without payment.

1.3. All prices are listed in euro (€) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

1.4. You are responsible for ensuring that all details provided at the time of booking (name, contact info, etc.) are accurate.

Please read this section carefully before booking.

2.2. Our standard cancellation terms are:

• More than 14 days before the course start date:
– You may receive a full refund or
– Transfer to another available course date (subject to availability).


• Between 7 and 14 days before the course start date:
– No refund, but
– You may transfer your booking to another date (subject to availability) or
– Transfer your place to another person you nominate.


• Less than 7 days before the course start date:
– No refund and no date transfer, but
– You may transfer your place to another person you nominate.

2.3. Failure to attend a course (“no show”) is treated as a late cancellation and no refund or transfer will be given.

2.4. If you arrive late or leave early, no partial refunds or credits will be given.

3.1. If you wish to reschedule to another course date, this will be treated according to the timeframes in Section 2.

3.2. Rescheduling is subject to:

• Availability on the alternative date, and
• Any difference in course price (you will be required to pay any additional amount due).

3.3. We reserve the right to limit the number of times a booking may be rescheduled.

4.1. We make every effort to run courses as advertised. However, we reserve the right to:

• Cancel a course
• Change the date or time
• Change the venue
• Replace an instructor

in case of low enrolment, illness, unforeseen circumstances or events beyond our control.

4.2. If we cancel a course, you will be offered:

• A full refund, or
• A transfer to another available date or course.

4.3. Our liability in the event of a cancellation by us is limited to the course fee you have paid. We are not liable for any additional costs incurred by you (e.g., travel, accommodation, loss of income).

5.1. By booking, you confirm that you are physically able to take part in the course activities, which may include standing, lifting, and using hand and power tools.

5.2. You must:

• Follow all safety instructions given by the instructor
• Wear any required PPE (personal protective equipment), such as safety glasses or appropriate footwear
• Not behave in a way that puts yourself or others at risk

5.3. We reserve the right to remove any participant from a course if their behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

5.4. If you have any medical condition or disability that may affect your participation, you must inform us at the time of booking so that we can discuss any reasonable adjustments.

6.1. For Transition Year (TY) courses run for schools, bookings must be made by the school or an authorised representative, not directly by students.

6.2. The school is responsible for:

• Ensuring appropriate consent is obtained from parents/guardians
• Providing any required supervision in line with school policy
• Informing us of any relevant health or behavioural considerations

6.3. All under-18 participants are expected to follow safety instructions and behave respectfully at all times. We reserve the right to remove a student from the activity if necessary for safety reasons. Any such decision will be discussed with the school representative.

7.1. All tools and materials required for the course will be provided unless otherwise stated.

7.2. You are responsible for your own personal belongings. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal items brought to the course.

8.1. From time to time, we may take photographs or short video clips during courses for use in our marketing (website, social media, brochures, etc.).

8.2. If you do not wish to appear in any photos or recordings, please let us know at the start of the course and we will respect your preference.

8.3. For TY and under-18 groups, photography/media will be managed in line with the school’s policy and any agreed consent arrangements.

9.1. Approved refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original booking wherever possible.

9.2. Refunds will be processed within a reasonable timeframe after approval. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to make the funds available.

9.3. Any booking fees or transaction charges from third-party payment providers may be non-refundable, depending on their policies.

10.1. We collect and process your personal data only for the purposes of managing your booking, delivering the course and communicating with you.

10.2. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

11.1. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control (such as extreme weather, power outages, public health restrictions, etc.).

12.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

13.1. We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.
